It's been a long, long time!

Okay, it's been a long time since I have posted anything. Actually, I haven't been "scrapping" for a long time. Bought a business and well, I have been married to it for quite some time. Now that my feet are grounded, I am back playing in my little room (occassionaly)! I am so excited.  I will be posting some new stuff soon!

It's been awhile

Wow! I haven't posted here since before Mother's Day! I have been so busy I have rarely had time to craft. I am in the processing of purchasing a coffee shop and am sooooooo excited. Wow...talk about stress! and anxiety! and tears! and laughter! Soon....real soon now....
Anyhoo....a friend asked for a wedding card. Failed to tell me she needed it like yesterday! It was nice being back tucked away in my little room making a card again. Usually when I have time to be in here, I am scrapbooking so cardmaking was a nice change. Made me put my crafty thinking cap on as opposed to thinking coffee! Thanks for looking!

HAPPY MUM'S DAY!!!!!

Happy Mother's Day! And how did you spend your day? Mine was great. DH, son and daughter made brunch and the kids did not fight once! NOT ONCE! Couldn't of asked for a better day.  In honor of all the mom's I spent the day in my little sanctuary (craft room) and made these awesome "mums". You can buy the svg kit "3D Mums and Fall Flowers" from svgcuts.com. I had so much fun making them. I didn't add leaves to all of them but they look great! Thanks for coming by and taking a look. Have a great evening! Hopefully you are all being SPOILED!

Flowers here are: Brittany Mum; Spider Mum and Sunflower. Edges are all inked, petals curved, bent, whatever! I glued them together and put a pop dot here or there. Just have fun with them!

Flowers: Black Eyed Susan (could you guess this one? lol); Dublin Mom; Batini Mum and Lollipop Mum.

Mary from SVGcuts.com has a great tutorial on how to make these.

MY FIRST WORD BOOK!

I finally did it! After looking at and admiring sooooo many word books, I decided to attempt making one of my own.  My nephew had a baby girl and so I made this for his new addition. I haven't put it together yet, not sure to use rings or invest in a bind-it-all. The things I could do with a bind-it-all! Any suggestions?

I used SU dp from their mini catalogue "sending love". I love how sparkly it is! and the colors, well.....they're just awesome. Some of the svg's I used were collected off of the many sites out there. The fairies are from svgcuts.com "Flitting Fairies" kit and the flower is from the "3D flowers kit".  The butterflies are from SU, and I used my cuttlebug die cut for the little flowers. I embossed, inked, stickled and just had alot of fun making this! Thanks for dropping by and looking!

SVGcuts.com Card Swap

Here is the card I made for the April card swap over at SVGcuts.com, my favorite place to hang out. Go check them out! You will be glad you did. The theme? (just take a guess, c'mon guess...) You got it! Mother's Day. I used SU paper - pink pirouette and melon mambo. I embossed the card with SU embossing folder - Finial Press. I looooovvveee my cuttlebug and this folder! The front of the card is from SVGcuts.com, one of Mary's wonderful creations (3D flower card). I inked the edges and flower petals with Rose Red (SU).  The butterfly is another one of Mary's files! She is such a talented artist! Sentiment is SU's "Messages for Mom". Thanks for looking.

Monkeying around

Did you watch the Oscars the other night? Did you watch the tributes? Did you notice Farrah Fawcett was not even mentioned? I couldn't believe it! She deserved a tribute just like the rest of them. She shared her beauty and talent with us for years, even documenting her last days. Did you ever see her in the "Burning Bed"? Far cry from Charlie's Angels but she was good, real good in that movie. And the hair...she gave us all the hair! C'mon Oscar, get it together!
Okay...enough of my ranting. I'm done. No more will be said about it.

Today I'm sharing a page of my DH and DS who seem to always (and I mean always) be goofing around. These pics called for Dustin Pikes svg file All Monkeys. You will find it at http://www.doodledragonstudios.com/SVGPage1.html . I love, love, love this set! And they are so easy to piece together.  For the corner vines I copied in SCAL and welded together to give me the corner. The lettering was done with SCAL. Gotta love that program! Thanks for looking.
