Merry Christmas to all!

Well, this will be my last post until after Christmas. Time to now focus on the food, drinks and family. It's a busy time for all of us. I FINALLY finished my baking (which took me forever because my DH and darling teens kept eating everything before I had a chance to freeze it!) Good to know they taste good!
We are spending Christmas with my in-laws (yes, I am looking forward to it!) and there will be a little toddler running around our house! I can't wait!
So to you all....MERRY CHRISTMAS AND MAY 2010 BRING YOU GOOD WILL AND HAPPINESS.
Thanks for looking!

Delightful Sketch #13

Okay, so I said I was done with my Christmas cards but when I saw the Delightful Sketch from http://www.delighfulsketches.blogspot.com/ I just had to use this digi stamp one last time! I'm not sure if I like this card. It has not grown on me and I am not certain that it will. I like the sketch though. For this card I used the digi stamp "Emma the hugger" from  http://www.fred-she-said.blogspot.com/ I colored with water pencils (remember, my new little toy). I used liquid applique with dazzling diamonds for the snow, flocking for the snowman and smooch moonlight ink on the coat.
I promise..I am now done my Christmas cards for 2009!

MoJo 116

Nothing like waiting until the last minute! Besides freezing I have been baking up a storm. Attempting to get it all done PRIOR to Christmas and not AFTER! It was during my cookie baking when it dawned on me that I still had to upload my Mojo card! So....here it is. I was going to do Christmas but in my previous post I said I was done and if I began again...I would probably keep going attempting to get next years cards done! Besides, with this cold weather, I needed to bring a little "sunshine" into my life.
I used the SU stamp Bloomin Beautiful. Cut the white out with the coluzzle and the purple with my Nesties.  I used the cuttlebug, watercolor pencils and a miscellaneous flower punch. I try to stay away from ribbon because I mail most of my cards and it always cost more to mail because it is bulky! Thanks for looking!

I did it! I did it! I finally finished all of my Christmas cards. This is the last of them. Isn't he darling?! I so love this stamp and the sentiment "A Merry Little Wish......."for lots of Christmas joy!" I stamped him with brown Stazon and colored with my water pencils. ( A few weeks ago SMOOCH was my new toy...now I'm back to water pencils!) I haven't had much luck coloring with water markers. Oh...I still do occassionally, but I prefer my pencils and chalks. I then used Zig 2-way glue and red and crystal white glitter for the hat and pompom. I wish I had brown flock so I could have done his body, but he looks fine with the water coloring. Thanks for looking!

Mojo Monday 115

When I saw Monday's Challenge I knew I could do it without too much trouble! I love the sketch! I used my favorite snowflake stamp from Judi Kins that I bought about three years ago at my favorite LSS along with the sentiment.  I stamped in versamark and embossed in gold. I then covered the whole snowflake circle with versamark and embossed with Irridescent Ice to give some "sparkle". The DP is from Creative Memories and card stock from SU - purely pomegranate. Thanks for looking!

Keep your head up!

Well...as you are probably aware...the Riders lost! I didn't watch the game but I heard all about it. My DH and DS are die hard fans and filled me in. Plus it has been all over the news, with the hi-lights since Sunday! I love the card Nancy posted after the game! Go take a peek http://www.nancyscreativemess.blogspot.com/ Instead of watching the game, my DD, her teenage friend and I went to see New Moon. If you haven't seen it yet you have to go. It is a great movie. Much more exciting than the first one. I had to laugh at the teenage comments after the movie. Who was their favorite? Jake or Edward? Hmmm...... I'm glad we waited for a week though to see the movie because there was no line up and the theatre was somewhat QUIET! If you read the book and haven't seen the movie you must go. You won't be disappointed.

GO RIDERS GO!

The game is about to start. My DH is a die hard Riders fan. He was up early this morning and made his famous Chili. A man in the kitchen is well.....let's just say I was called quite a few times to "help" just a little. lol! A hurricane hit the kitchen (hehe) so I left to do my paper crafting. When I went back to the kitchen...it was spotless! My DS has his Saskatchewan flag, the TV is blaring (we have a home theatre). All set..so to all you Rider fans...GO RIDERS GO!

Digital Delights sketch #12

I don't know how many of you are into digi stamping. I was introduced to it not so long ago by googling digi stamps and WOW! Awesome! There is a forum on SCS about it and some are for it, others against it. But me....I love em! I love that I can dig out by water pencils and color away. For whatever reason I have a heck of a time water coloring with markers, so stick with the pencils. I have no problems whatsoever with the ink smearing. I print them out, let sit for 24 hours, or if I'm really anxious to use them right way I heat with the heat gun and paint away! Oh, don't get me wrong, I still enjoy the rubber stamping but now I can do both and mix them together. Thank you to all the wonderful artists out there for sharing your work.
I did this card for the Delightful Sketch #12 over at  http://www.delightfulsketches.blogspot.com/ . This is a digi stamp I bought called "Holly Jolly Bonnie" and the sentiment as well.  I colored her with my water pencils, used smooch ink on the holly's and dazzling diamonds on the trim of her coat. The DP is from SU (retired) and CTMH textured cardstock. I used the cuttlebug with the textile folder (I don't know why, but I try to stay away from ribbon as much as possible!) Thanks for looking!

MoJo 114

Off  to work but thought I could sneek this in before I left. Here's my take for this weeks MoJo Monday Challenge. It is hard to see in the scan but I covered the sentiment with versamark and embossed with Irridescent embossing powder. Thanks for looking!

MOJO 113

Wow! It's been awhile. As neurotic as I was with the H1N1 (you know, the santizing hands, cough in arm, etc) I ended up getting it! And boy...did it throw me off my feet. I was sick  with a fever, body aches, headache and cough. It's been over a week and I am still feeling the effects of it. Went back to work on Friday and I should have stayed home and in bed cause that's where I wanted to be. I'm moving kinda slow still and hope I start to feel like my ole self again soon! I did however manage to do the Mojo Monday Challenge. I love this Moose from Digital Delights .I colored him with SU chalks, used SU retired DP,  River Rock paper and ink cuttlebug and nesties. And for the BLING! I added Dazzling Diamonds on the scarf and pompom! Thanks for looking!

Another page I did at my monthly scrapbook club. I love this club! Getting together with the ladies once a month, scrapping (hehe), and trying out all the Stampin Up products! I think I have enough stamps to last for, well, until the new catty comes out! lol. Thanks for looking!

MOJO 109

Wow, what a week. My son went in for surgery, daughter was ill and the school was missing 35% of their students! The flu season is here and  many are wondering if they will get the H1N1 flu shot. I too was wondering if I should or not. Then a good friend got the H1N1 and I immediately decided to get it.The poor guy was deathly ill, ached all over, ran a fever for four days was in extreme pain and discomfort. It took over a week to finally feel "somewhat" better.
Nonetheless....I managed to make a card for the Mojo Monday Challenge.

I used the same stamp set as I did in Mojo 108. I love this set. It is sooooooo adorable! I colored it with Tombow markers. The snowmen were colored with Smooch moonlight ink. These are my favorite toys right now. I can't seem to get enough of them! I used my versamark pen to cover over them then used the paint. A trick I learned from Scrap & Stamp magazine.  I cuttled the background and "popped" the picture and sentiment. Thanks for looking!

MOJO 108

Only in Alberta would we have weather in the +'s and wake up the next morning and were at -20! What the heck! Today I did the Mojo Monday Challenge (although it is well past Monday!) I love this stamp set by Impression Obsession.

I used CTMH and SU cardstock along with some misc dp I had laying around.  The hat and scarf were colored using Smooch Pearlized Accent Inks.  I used Crystal Snow ultra fine glitter (Stampendous) on the snowbank and snow white flock on the snowballs. Thanks for looking!

I "popped" out the snowmen and used stickles to add some shine!

MOJO 107

When I woke up this morning I was hoping, just hoping the weatherman would for once {lol:)} be wrong in his weather forecast. He wasn't. It was cold and I had to turn on the heat! This afternoon there was a e blizzard and I thought of my daughter driving. (she's a new driver) 10 minutes later the sun was shining! Only in Alberta.

Here is my take on MOJO107. This is my first attempt at the challenges and I hope to partake in a few. You will find her blog at http://www.mojomonday.blogspot.com/

I used Chocolate Chip cardstock and Groovy Guava dp. The stamp is from Stampin Up. I stamped it on dp, cut out the flowers and glued them on with mini glue dots. I then used Crystal Effects on the flowers to give them some shine. I used Gina K's idea with the scallop nestability and sponged it with Groovy Guava ink prior to taking off the die, giving it layered effect. Unfortunately, I forgot to attach the brads BEFORE I glued it to the cardstock so I punched some out using a hole punch and crystal effects. I know, I know... I am a little off on keeping them straight! But I tried. Thanks for looking!

Punches, punches, punches!

Here is a card I CASED over at http://www.stampincanada.com/ for the Star of the Week Challenge. Thanks to Donnalee, (whose card I CASED) I had so much fun digging out my punches and creating cards. I made up a few but this was my favorite.
I used miscellaneous paper and cuttled it with the argyle folder. The dress and purse were made using the following punches from Stampin Up: heart, word window, round tab, large and small oval. I cut out rectangles for the skirt of the dress as well as the flower, embellished with mini pearls. Thanks for looking!
